The imperfect glory of healing hits me like a storm. . I know this storm before it hits; The calmness comes first Taking me under her wings. . Battered from within, Protected by mindfulness. . From my shelter of calmness I see the wounds yet to be healed. Like swords forgotten and left to rust. . There is beauty to be found in those wounds. A hopeful horizon that lures me onwards. . I caught myself grumbling early this week about the cold, a stiff back, the busy week ahead and an early morning. . I caught myself thinking all these negative things about my current reality right before a thought hit me like a slap in the face. . I was walking to my car, that was going to take me to a massage, and then would take me to my work where I have the resources and the ability to help others heal. . I was fed, clothed, and had just come from a home. I was surrounded by support, and at the tip of my fingers I had endless networks and resources to help me in my daily life. . I was busy because I’m blessed enough to be at a point in my young career where I am fully booked 2-3 weeks in advance and get the opportunity to design my own job. Which means I have time and resources to take care of myself, go to yoga, feed myself and life a relatively privileged lifestyle. . I don’t have anyone telling me what to do, and I have every opportunity to be grateful.. . All of a sudden those little grumbles seemed ridiculous. I walked into my week feeling extreme gratitude for all the things I do have and feel, not negativity towards the little bumps along the way. . How do you choose to experience your reality? We always have a choice, the light is always there.. just as the darkness holds steadfast to keep us grateful for the ebbs and flows. . .
